In a recent incident in AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., a Wells Fargo customer faced a harrowing experience when $5,000 vanished from her bank account. To add to her distress, an additional $5,000 disappeared while she was attempting to rectify the situation. Frustrated and concerned, Rowena Pagtakhan sought assistance from 7 On Your Side to resolve the issue.

Rowena Pagtakhan expressed her anguish, stating, “I was losing sleep, because I was at the end of my rope.” She found herself in a $10,000 financial hole, with $5,000 initially disappearing from her Wells Fargo account, followed by another $5,000 vanishing.

According to Pagtakhan, she diligently followed the bank’s instructions, engaging in numerous phone calls and navigating through various bank departments. Eventually, she had to visit a Wells Fargo branch to seek resolution. During her visit, she discovered that a $5,000 check made out to her had been mistakenly given to another individual who had successfully cashed it. Astonishingly, a second $5,000 followed suit, compounding her predicament. Frustrated by her inability to find a resolution through the bank’s channels, she reached out to 7 On Your Side for assistance.

Pagtakhan noted a positive change in the bank’s response after involving 7 On Your Side. “All of a sudden, they were actively contacting me, and then all of a sudden they made the correction as they should have,” she said.

Wells Fargo faced a complex situation, and in a statement provided to 7 On Your Side, the bank expressed its regrets, stating, “… we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and worry they encountered during the time it took to solve this fraud event.” While the bank couldn’t delve into specifics, it acknowledged that this was not a typical situation.

Pagtakhan expressed her gratitude, saying, “So I want to thank you for it, because now I can sleep better.
